Flexible roller bearings have rollers which are not solid but are spirally wound from spring steel strips and machined to a cylindrical profile. This makes the rollers ‘flexible’ and suitable for application where shock or impact loading is frequent. The inner and outer rings are flange-less thus these bearings cannot carry any axial loads but have high radial load carrying capacity.
