Thin section ball bearings are similar to single row deep groove ball bearings and single row angular contact ball bearings except with a much smaller cross section. Furthermore, the cross section remains constant and does not increase with the bore diameter and therefore, these bearings are also known as constant section ball bearings.
Thin section ball bearings are suitable for applications where the space between the shaft and the housing is limited and a normal deep groove ball bearing or a normal angular contact ball bearing cannot be used.
