Spherical plain bearings have matching sphered inner ring and outer ring without rollers. The center of the spherical curvature on the inner ring and the outer ring coincides with the bearing center and therefore, are internally self aligning.
These bearings are suitable for applications where the shaft relative to the housing bore is prone to angular misalignments and the relative speed of rotation is low.
