Home / Roller Bearings
Roller bearings are similar to ball bearings except that the rolling element is a roller instead of a ball. The roller can be cylindrical, tapered, or spherical in shape with matching raceway profiles on the rings or the washers. Since the contact area between a roller and its corresponding raceway is more than the contact area between a ball and its corresponding raceway, the load carrying capacity of a rolling bearing is generally much higher than that of a ball bearing.
Depending on the roller shape and dimensions, rolling bearings are classified into cylindrical roller bearings, needle roller bearings, tapered roller bearings, and spherical roller bearings. Roller bearings are further classified into radial and thrust bearings based on their primary load carrying direction.
AEC manufactures roller bearings in several designs, variants, and dimensional series that can be used in a wide variety of applications.

Crossed roller bearings have the rollers placed axially perpendicular to each other alternately and therefore are called crossed roller bearings. The rollers are sparated by disc shaped spacers…

Cylindrical crossed roller bearings have cylindrical rollers that are axially perpendicular to each other and feature a single inner and split outer ring.

AEC cylindrical roller bearings are available in several design variants and dimensional series in single row, double row, and four-row configurations. A radial cylindrical roller bearing…

Cylindrical roller thrust bearings are designed to to carry axial loads with no radial load carrying capacity. They comprise of a shaft washer, a housing washer, and a roller and cage assembly and…

Flexible roller bearings have rollers which are not solid but are spirally wound from spring steel strips and machined to a cylindrical profile. This makes the rollers 'flexible' and suitable for…

Needle roller bearings have cylindrical rollers with diameters much smaller compared to their lengths. These bearings offer great rigidity and are useful for applications were the radial space…

Spherical roller bearings have asymmetrically sphered or barrel shaped rollers. These bearings have two inner ring raceways and a common spherical raceway on the outer ring. The center of the…

Spherical roller thrust bearings have asymmetrically sphered rollers. These bearings have one shaft washer raceway and one housing washer raceway and the load is transmitted at an angle to the…

Tapered crossed roller bearings have tapered rollers that are axially perpendicular to each other and feature a split inner and single outer ring.

Tapered roller bearings feature tapered rollers and matching tapered raceways on the inner and outer rings. The taper lines of the raceways and the rolling axis of the tapered rollers intersect at…

Tapered roller thrust bearings are designed to to carry axial loads with no radial load carrying capacity. They comprise of a shaft washer, a housing washer, and a roller and cage assembly and are…
